Ni kijana aliyezaliwa katika mkoa wa kilimanjaro katika milima ya upare aliyesoma katika shule ya msingi kijenge mjini Arusha na kisha katika shule ya sekondari karatu kabla ya kujiuna na elimu ya kidato cha tano na sita katika sekondari ya Kilimanjaro boys iliyoko katika mkoa wa kilimanjaro, na baadaye kujiunga na chuo teule cha sanaa bagamoyo na kuhitimu diploma ya sanaa kabla ya kujiunga na kundi la parapanda arts lililokuwa likiongozwa na Mona mwakanjuki na mwamgunga mnyenyelwa.yeye ndiye aliyetoa ridhimu ya wimbo uliomuaga mwalimu Juliasi K.Nyerere(tangulia mwalimu) na mwamgunga ndiye aliyetengeneza mashairi ya wimbo ule ulioleta mtafaruku katika paa la sanaa ya Tanzania.kwa sasa Richard ni mratibu wa kampuni ya kimataifa ijulikanayo kama dramatool.sona anavyokwambia yeye mwenyewe;Richard Mziray: richard.mziray@dramatool.org
Apart from being a Dramatool coordinator for Tanzania National Chapter in the Dramatool project,I work as drama musician in the field of Theatre.I'm a professional practitioner holding a diplomma of theatre awarded by the Bagamoyo College of Arts, Tanzania- East Africa. I'm also working with Parapanda Theatre Laboratory Trust( a Theatre company based in Dar es salaam) as the head of music department with the responsibility of composing, arranging, and in collboration with my fellow colleagues playing those pieces using traditional musical instruments.I have always believed that art can be used as a tool to bring positive changes in the society and through that I take Dramatool as the major instrument to do all that universally and so I feel that I have a commitment for all theatre practitioners in my contry and the world in general.Lastly I am a board member of Tanzania Theatre Centre, an institution which brings together theatre groups and individual artistes in Tanzania. I love people and Art, and so I'm ready to collaborate with any theatre artist from any part of this globe.Listening to music is my daily life,I love slow and hard beats because through it I get inspiration of doing my work.wasiliana naye kwa anwani pepe niliyoipandisha hapo ili kujua zaidi.
